Funk is for playlists, not armpits.

Terra and Self began with founder Kenne personal journey to switch to natural products in 2015, inspired by her grandmother’s experience battling breast cancer twice. For more than five years, she struggled to find a natural deodorant that worked for her—dealing with itchy, irritated pits, smelling like ground beef, or sometimes both.

In 2020, she decided it was time to make something better. After discovering that baking soda was the culprit behind much of the irritation, she formulated a magnesium-powered, baking soda-free deodorant that actually works.

Founded in 2020, Terra and Self is a woman-owned brand handcrafted in small batches in Riverside, California. Every deodorant is aluminum-free and baking soda-free, with no synthetic fragrance. Instead, each scent comes from essential oil blends created in-house.
